On April 21, 2017, the Hanover County Rotary Club celebrated the 50th anniversary of its charter (April 17, 1967). District Governor Diane Hagemann and her husband Drew joined with other clubs' Rotarians for the festivities. Club members and their guests enjoyed an evening of food, fellowship and a presentation focusing on the history and achievements of the club. Local digitaries, including Delegate Buddy Fowler, Delegate Chris Peace and  Mechanicsville Supervisor Canova Peterson, had presentations for the club. DG Diane had a letter from Rotary International President John Germ.

5th Grade Essay Contest Winners...




For the past three years, our club has supported an essay contest for Hanover Co. fifth grade students with the theme Rotary 4-Way Test.

Glenn Moore reads Andy and Elmer's Apple Dumpling Adventure, a book about the 4-way test to students in Mrs. Meador's second grade classroom at Pearson's Corner Elementary School. These books were donated to second grade classrooms throughout Hanover County in cooperation with the Mechanicsville Rotary Club.

Habitat for Humanity work day


       In 2012 club members participated in helping Habitat for Humanity erect a home in Ashland.

Dan Baldecchi helped organize another successful work day on June 1st, 2013 for Habitat for Humanity with several members of our club and the homeowners.



The club's annual signature fundraiser, Shrimp & Suds is always held the second Thursday in May. 

   2017 marks the 35th year of this successful event.
